Aylesbeare Common offers an expansive experience of the East Devon National Landscape. As a key part of the East Devon Pebblebed Heaths, this RSPB-managed reserve is a sprawling expanse of purple heather, golden gorse, and boggy mires that feels remarkably remote despite its easy access.
It is a landscape defined by its ancient geology and its vital role as a sanctuary for some of the UK’s rarest specialised wildlife.
On a clear day, the higher ridges of the common offer sweeping views across the Otter Valley and out toward the Jurassic Coast.
